I hope that everyone had a great weekend! My family did lots of holiday stuff: we made gingerbread houses, went to an electric light parade and went to see Santa at the mall! It was fun (most of the time) but I am really looking foward to a relaxing night of watching Desperate Housewives tonight!!!

On Friday night, I had some of my downline over for some stamping. I will show you what we made tomorrow. Today- I want to show you the little candy boxes that I made to give to each of them! Plus I have a tutorial on how to make the box! So here is what the finished product looks like…

And when you slide the belly band off, this is what you find inside…

A peanutbutter cup!!! YUMMY!

Here is how you make the box:

Start with a piece of cardstock that is 6×4 correction!!! start with a 8×4 piece of cardstock!!!!

Score the long side at 1 and 5

Score the short side at 1, 3 1/2, 4 1/2 and 7

Cut the tabs to the first score line. Do this for each one along both sides.

Add sticky strip to each of these tabs and assemble the box.

Now decorate!!! I used a 1×8 piece of the Frosty Day Designer Series Paper and some Bashful Blue striped ribbon to make a belly band! Then I stamped a fun little tag!

Aren’t they cute?! They fit the Reeses candy perfectly, but I also think they would be great for jewlery, gift cards, and lots of other small gifts!

Recipe:

Stamps: Holiday Lineup

Paper: Frosty Day Designer Series Paper, Old Olive, Whisper White

Ink: Basic Black

Other: Stampin’ Write Markers, Bashful Blue Striped Ribbon, Circle Scallop Punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, White gel pen

I will be back tomorrow with pictures of my downline make-and-takes! Happy Stamping!

Every year, I offer a scrapbooking class in December. I love it- because it forces me to get a jump start on my scrapbooking!!! I think that my customers love it for the same reason! Imagaine printing your pictures on the 1st of the year and have 6 scrapbook layouts waiting for them! Today is the last day to sign up to come to my scrapbooking class on the 12th and it is also the last day to buy a class kit by mail. Click HERE for all the details.

Here is another peak at one of the layouts we will be maiking in class…

Are you wondering why I put three of the same picture on th page? Well I didn’t have any other horizontal pictures from our Christmas shoot and I wanted to be able to show you where I intended for the pictures to be placed when I designed the page. Make sense?

Here is a close up of the cute little tag that comes in the I Wish kit. I used it as my title on this page…

I think I may end up using this page for pictures of my kids snuggled up in their jammies on Christmas Eve!

Hope to see you in class!!!

I will be taking the weekend off of blogging in order to spend some extra time with my family- but I am working on a tutorial that I will be posting first thing Monday morning!!!!

Have a great weekend!

My favorite gift to give is a gift card. But I like to dress the gift card up with a hand made holder! So here is a very simple one that you can make from a small piece of patterned paper…

All of my customers should have received a step-by-step tutorial on making this little guy. But it is very simple….just start with a piece of 6×4 patterned paper and score it on the long side at 1 1/2 and 4 1/4. Use sticky strip to glue it together and a circle punch for the notch in the top. Decorate it with some ribbon and a handstamped tag!

Recipe:

Stamps: Christmas Classics

Paper: Ski Slope Designer Series Paper, Real Red, Whisper White

Ink: Real Red and Old Olive Markers

Other: 1 1/4 inch circle punch, 1 3/8 inch circle punch, cicle scallop punch, white gel pen, real red ribbon

Today I am going to show you a mini album that I made last Christmas. It was before my blogging days. After an entire year- I am still in love with this little album. And all my customers like to look at it when they come to class. The Dashing Designer Series Paper that I used in the book is retired- but if you want to recreate this- you could use any of the Holiday Designer Series Paper packs in the current Catalog or the Holiday Mini.

Here is the cover:

And the inside pages…

And here is a picture of the tags that I put inside the paper bags….

I gave these albums to the kid’s grandparents and godparents last year and they were a hit! I know that I displayed by copy all year long!

So here are some details….

-I buy my paperbag albums from ebay. I buy the 6×6 albums and I like to buy the ones that are sewn together as they stay together much better!

-The albums already have the holes punched in them- but if you just add all the pages and then try and punch through them with the crop a dile- it will be too thick. So make the pages and punch the holes before you glue them into the album!

-I used lots of punches and ribbon in this project. The only stamp set that I used was Merry & Bright (still available) for the little reindeers. And the patterned paper is called Dashing- but it is retired.

-I got these pictures taken last year at Portrait Innovations. The outfits were purchased from ebay.

Today I thought I would show you the anniversary cards that my hubby and I exchanged over the weekend.

Here is the card that I made for him….

I tried really hard to make a card without flowers on it- but I gave up!!!! I decided to make the flowers blue, so that they would look a little more masculine! What do you think?

And now- here is the card that my sweet hubby made for me….

Isn’t it sweet?! Now don’t be fooled- he does not like stamping. But that is what makes this card so special…he made it for me even though stamping is not something he enjoys. And I think he did a pretty awesome job! Just take a closer look at those hearts…

He stamped them on two differt colors of cardstock and pieced them together! I am impressed! His card looks much better than any of my early creations!!!!

Now you want to see the gift he gave me with the card?

Isn’t it a beauty?!!!! I have not had a watch in quite some time and I was just shocked by the gift! He had a very small budget to work with so he shopped for sales and even looked for store coupons. I have trained him well!!!

Happy Decmeber!

I sure do love the Holiday Line Up stamp set!!! Last week I was playing around with it and colored the snowman image with my aquapainter and some inks on watercolor paper. When I was done coloring- I decided to turn it into a fun gift tag!

I just added a jumbo eyelet with my Crop-a-dile and then some of the Rope Twine from the Holiday Mini. I used a Black Stampin’ Write Marker to write the to and from on the tag.

I think that a hand stamped tag will make any gift more memorable!

Today is your last chance to take advantage of the Holiday Extravaganza sale. Check my post below for more info!
